It was the first popular polyploid in New Zealand meaning it had considerably larger buds and stronger potency than normal cannabis strains in NZ. The Polypoid means the plant has 3 or more chromosomes per cell as opposed to just 1 or 2 from common varieties.
As a result of the ideal growing conditions in Te Puke Bay, the plant succeeded in becoming a well renowned marijuana strain globally and has been notably displayed in numerous Amsterdam Coffee Shops.
Te Puke Thunder is not for light weights. It is often weighed up against the Mr. Nice’s masterpiece “White Widow” in terms of high, potency, duration of effect, etc..
